Dr. Michael Belovich was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After moving to numerous Canadian provinces with a father in the military, he completed his secondary education at American High School, in Mons, Belgium. Dr. Belovich is a graduate of Carleton University (BSc in Biology, 1985) in Ottawa and the Ontario Veterinary College (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, 1990), in Guelph. After working in different cities of Ontario which included Sydenham, Stayner and Toronto, Dr. Belovich purchased Yonge Street Animal Hospital in September of 1996.
Dr. Lisa Crozier joined Yonge Street Animal Hospital in September 2000, following 2 years at York University and 5 years at the Ontario Veterinary College. She is the proud mom of Ellie, the Beagle, and Maurice le Habitant, aka “Habsˮ her loving cat. Outside her busy clinic work, Lisa enjoys paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, traveling, crocheting, reading, looking after her plants and backyard birding.
Dr. Tharsis Bastos moved to Toronto in 2017 from his native Brazil and shortly after was enticed to join the Yonge Street Animal Hospital family. Dr. Bastos obtained a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Uberaba in Brazil in 2015 and became fully licenced in Ontario in 2021. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren and their young son Noah, along with their Pomeranian, Cleo. Dr. Bastos is fluent in Portuguese and English.
Dr. Lara Frankel moved to Toronto in 2021 and shortly thereafter joined the Yonge Street Animal Hospital family. Originally from Vancouver, Lara studied veterinary medicine at the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine in the UK. She is the proud parent of Plum, an Italian Greyhound. When not helping clients, Lara enjoys hiking and taking Plum for long walks, and is a Pilates enthusiast
Claudia Molina graduated with a bachelorʼs degree in veterinary medicine in Colombia. After moving to Canada in 2005, she has developed her management skills and as of summer of 2023 took over the position of Practice Manager at Yonge Street Animal. When not keeping the clinic running smoothly, she likes to spend time with her rescue cat Meannie, painting, reading, biking and traveling. Claudia is fluent in English and Spanish.
Along with Elena and their daughter, Aleks moved to Toronto in June of 2022. A graduate in Veterinary Medicine from the Ukraine, Aleks currently works as an associate veterinary technician at Yonge Street Animal Hospital while pending qualifying for his Canadian v4eterinary licence. At home are the two wonderful cats, Bond and Leya, that the family rescued and brought to Canada. Along with family time, Aleks enjoys the gym, darts, listening to audiobooks and music and singing. Aleks is fluent in Ukrainian, Russian and English.
Juliana has lived in Toronto all her life. A graduate of the Seneca College Medical Office Management /Administration Program, Juliana now works at Yonge Street Animal Hospital as an associate Veterinary Technician. Loving mom to Sparky, her English cocker spaniel and Sylvester, her domestic shorthair cat, Juliana loves to travel and spend time with her family. Julian is fluent in English, French and Italian.
Philippe Kelecom has been living in Toronto since 2019. A graduate with a bachelorʼs in veterinary medicine from his home in Brazil, he is currently working as a veterinary technician at Yonge Street Animal Hospital until he can qualify for his Canadian license. Outside of his busy clinic schedule, Phillipe can be found spending time with his son and playing video games. Phillip is fluent in English and Portuguese.
After studying french and psychology at the Glendon College of York University, Danielle transferred to the veterinary Technician program at Northern College to pursue her “passion for animals.ˮ Danielle has called Toronto home since birth and has been a Registered Veterinary Technician with the Yonge Street Animal Hospital family for over 7 years. She has two adorable cats, Nami and Lilo at home. When not at work, Danielle, she is busy cooking, watching Anime or sitcoms, listening to music and podcasts, and reading books and manga.
Pamela is proud to be a native Scarberian. Following a stint in nursing school, Pamela found her passion working in the veterinary field. She completed a veterinary technician program at Senica College, Pamela is working to be Registered Veterinary Technician in 2025. As a veterinary Technician at Yonge Street Animal Hospital, Pamela is putting her skills to excellent use. Outside of her clinic work, she can be found skateboarding in the summer, snowboarding in the winter, hiking, working out, video gaming, watching anime, and chilling with family, friends and her favorite animals. Her animal menagerie includes: 4 Ball pythons (Syph, Bean, Ichigo & Juno), 1 corn snake (Queenie), 2 cats– a British Shorthair(Tobiko) & a Persian/Ragdoll Mix (Kumo), & 2 dogs,- a chihuahua (Kumo) and a Rottweiler (Kenzo)!
Ali Soliman is a native Torontonian. She is certified as a Professional Groomer by Pampered Paws Grooming Academy. Ali has worked at Yonge Street Animal Hospital for over 25 years, where she divides her time between her loyal grooming clientele and working as an associate veterinary technician. When not spoiling her 2 cats, Papi Chulo and Rily Rose, Ali enjoys, gardening, reading darts and jigsaw puzzles.
Nik is currently studying for his undergrad degree. His family has been in Toronto all his life. When not at school, studying or working part time at Yonge Street Animal Hospital a veterinary assistant, Nik enjoys, Maui Thai, soccer, cars and he is 2a self-proclaimed “music nerd.ˮ
Kathy Hung joined The Yonge Street Animal Hospital Family as a kennel assistant in August of 2023. She puts her bachelorʼs degree in communication to excellent use in her role as a veterinary assistant. Outside of the clinic, Kathy likes to “discover hidden gems among historical buildings and exhibitions.ˮ She also collects old items; crafts fermented foods and expresses her creative side through digital drawing. Kathy is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
Ester is a veterinary school graduate of her native Dominican Republic, that has made her home in Toronto since December of 2023. She is now assisting the veterinarians at Yonge Street Animal Hospital as she refines her veterinary skills in Canada. Esther loves swimming at the beach with her Havanese/poodle mix, Brownie or chilling at home listening to music and catching up on their favorite tv series.
Kayla was born in Timmins but grew up in Toronto. Her whole life she has always been around animals whether it be cats, dogs, birds you name it! Coming from a mobile veterinary service, she is delighted to have made the move to creating a home at Yonge Street Animal Hospital. Kayla is a parent to two beautiful dogs, her beautiful Baylee and little guy Gizmo as well as gorgeous cat named Booker. Aside from spending time with her fur babies Kayla loves to go camping, visit/explore small towns and spend time with family and friends.
Ivanka moved to Toronto from the Ukraine in 2022. She graduated in 2021 from the Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology in the Ukraine with a Masters of Science in Veterinary Medicine. Ivanka is working at Yonge Street Animal to learn more about veterinary medicine in North America. A self described adrenaline junkie, Ivanka is an avid equestrian that also loves spending time with family and friends.
Anthony graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors. A lifelong resident of Toronto, he has balanced his academic pursuits with hands-on experience, working part-time as a veterinary assistant at the Yonge Street Animal Hospital since 2016. Outside of work, Anthony expresses his creativity through designing, building, and developing engineering projects. In his free time, he also enjoys training in Muay Thai, as well as driving and working on cars and motorcycles.
Angelica proudly hails from Toronto from birth. Currently her pet family consists of 4 fulltime cats, Cloud, Luke, Lady and Mini. She is also the godmother to Dr. Belovichʼ poodle, Havana, hosting her whenever Dr. Belovich travelʼs out of town. When not leading the client service team at the Yonge Street Animal Hospital, Angelica loves to hike the Don Valley with her friendʼs dogs, osteology, reading, gardening, foraging in the forest and learning about homesteading.
